What Goes Into a Roller Compactor Quotation
Machine, rental period, transport, deposit and operator: what each line of a roller compactor quotation covers, and what to send us to get one.
A roller compactor quotation is short, but every line in it answers a real question about your job. Which machine, for how long, where it goes, how it gets there and who drives it. When you know what the quotation covers, you can send the right details the first time and compare it properly against your budget.
This guide walks through each part of a SolidRoll quotation, what we need from you to prepare it, and the points worth checking before you confirm.
The machine and the rental period
The first part of any quotation is the machine itself and how long you keep it. These two lines set the base rate.
Machine size
Our published fleet has three machines, each with a rate for 1 week and for 1 month:
- Plate Compactor: RM400 per 1 week, RM1,000 per 1 month. For pressing soil or sand over small areas.
- Roller Compactor (1 Ton), walk-behind double drum: RM600 per 1 week, RM1,400 per 1 month. For small road works, repairs and tight spaces.
- Roller Compactor (3 Ton), ride-on: RM1,800 per 1 week, RM5,000 per 1 month. For bigger road and site works.
You can see the full list with photos on our roller compactor fleet and rates section. Larger 5, 10 and 25-ton rollers are available to ask about. They have no published price, so their rate comes with the quotation.
Rental period
The published periods are 1 week and 1 month. If your job needs a different period, such as a few days or two weeks, ask us. The period and its rate are then confirmed in the quotation, so there is no guesswork on either side.
Transport, deposit and operator
The machine rate is only part of the total. Three more items decide what you actually pay.
Delivery and collection
We deliver the machine to your site and collect it when the rental ends. The transport charge depends on where the site is, so it is worked out per job and shown as its own line. A site in the middle of town and a site at the end of an estate road can carry different transport charges.
Deposit
A deposit is paid before delivery. The amount depends on the machine and the job, and it is set in your quotation. Check that line so you can arrange the payment ahead of your start date.
Operator
Our published rates are for the machine only. If you need someone to run it, an operator can be arranged on request, depending on the package. Say so when you ask, because it changes the quotation.
What we need from you to prepare it
A quotation is only as accurate as the details behind it. These are the points we ask for.
Site and schedule
- The site town or location, so we can confirm availability and transport.
- Your start date and how long you need the machine.
The job itself
- The material you are compacting: soil, sand, crusher run or asphalt.
- The rough size of the area.
- The machine size you have in mind, or a description of the job if you are not sure.
Access
Tell us whether a lorry can reach the spot where the machine will work. A narrow lane, a low gate or a soft verge affects how the machine is delivered. Photos of the entrance help a lot.
Operator yes or no
Let us know early if you want an operator, so the right package is quoted from the start.
Checking the quotation before you confirm
When the quotation arrives, take a minute to read it line by line.
Points to look at
- The machine matches the job. A 1-ton roller for a back lane, a 3-ton ride-on for a wider road base.
- The period covers your real schedule, with some room for rain days.
- The transport charge is for the correct site location.
- The deposit amount and when it is due.
- Whether an operator is included or not.
When something changes
If your start date moves or the job grows, tell us before delivery. A changed period or a bigger machine means an updated quotation, which is easier to sort out early than on the day.
