Site Access Checklist Before a Roller Is Delivered
Road width, height limits, firm ground and a clear unloading spot. A short checklist to run before a roller compactor arrives on site.

A roller compactor arrives on a lorry, and the lorry has to get close enough to unload it safely. Most delivery problems have nothing to do with the machine. They come from a gate that is too narrow, a car parked across the lane, or soft ground that will not take the weight.
Run through this checklist before your delivery date. It takes a few minutes and saves a wasted trip, a delayed start and a revised transport charge.
The route to your site
Start from the main road and follow the path the lorry will take.
Road width and turns
Look at the narrowest point between the main road and your site. Tight corners in old housing areas, roadside stalls and parked cars can all block a lorry. If the last stretch is a narrow back lane, mention it.
Height limits
Check for low trees, overhead cables, archways, covered car porches and building entrances. A lorry carrying a ride-on roller needs clearance above, not only space on the sides.
Weight and surface
A loaded lorry is heavy. A new driveway, a drain cover, a soft grass verge or a road softened by rain may not take that weight. Tell us what the ground is like where the lorry will stop.
Gated estates and buildings
If the site is inside a guarded estate, an industrial compound or a commercial building, find out whether lorries need prior approval or can only enter at certain hours. Arrange this before the delivery day.

The unloading spot
The lorry needs a place to stop, and the machine needs a safe way down.
Level, firm ground
Pick a spot that is flat and firm, close to where the machine will work. Unloading on a slope or on loose fill is harder and less safe.
Clear space around the lorry
Keep the area clear of materials, vehicles and people during unloading. Move stockpiles of sand, crusher run or bricks out of the way beforehand.
From drop-off to work area
Think about how the machine moves from the drop-off point to the work area. A walk-behind Roller Compactor (1 Ton) or a Plate Compactor can pass through tighter spaces than a ride-on Roller Compactor (3 Ton). Kerbs, steps and open drains on the way matter.
Neighbours and traffic
In a busy lane or a housing area, let neighbours know a lorry is coming. If unloading will block a road for a short time, plan for it.

Matching the machine to the access
Sometimes the access decides the machine. A narrow back lane may suit the Roller Compactor (1 Ton) at RM600 per 1 week or RM1,400 per 1 month. A small porch or footpath may only need the Plate Compactor at RM400 per 1 week or RM1,000 per 1 month. A wider site with good lorry access can take the ride-on Roller Compactor (3 Ton) at RM1,800 per 1 week or RM5,000 per 1 month. Larger 5, 10 and 25-ton rollers are available to ask about and are priced in the quotation. Compare them on our roller compactor fleet and rates.
On the delivery day
Someone on site
Have a contact person at the site who knows where the machine should go and can open gates. Share their phone number in advance.
Check the machine before work starts
Walk around the machine with the delivery crew, and ask any questions about operation before they leave. If an operator is part of your package, confirm the start time with them.
Plan the collection too
The machine is collected after the rental ends, so the same access needs to be clear again. Keep the drop-off spot clear on collection day.
